Study presents six design lenses and ten recommendations, derives three user personas, and tests two smartphone prototypes including CoastMaster prototype in driving simulator studies with 24 male drivers (18–25). Gamified prompts (ambient anticipatory cues, stars for smooth coasting) increase measured engagement and arousal, produce fewer speeding incidents, reduced average speed and improved lateral control, but introduce short off‑road glances to the phone; later work moves to an advanced motion simulator and iterates to cut visual distraction.
