168 hours of video from 12 people over three days yields 1,009 smartwatch interactions (940 usable); watch use peaks around lunchtime at 5.3 uses per hour and averages 2.2 seconds mean per interaction. Seventy-one percent of uses occur alone; interactions are significantly shorter during conversation and longer while eating; home and work show similar lengths. Only 146 clips show use during talk, with just two leading to topic change and most pauses under 2.5 seconds. Proposals: faster notification reveal, richer haptics, or delay notifications until conversational pauses.
