Float lets a single wrist hold and point a cursor by wrist tilt while detecting an in‑air finger tap using only built‑in sensors, combining PPG+accelerometer+gyroscope and a reverse mapping from rotation matrices to polar cursor coordinates. A user‑elicitation study defines the tap gesture; five templates classify taps. Detection achieves 97.9% recall with 0.4% false discovery, acquires 2–10 mm targets in about 1–2 s, and yields >98.9% accuracy stationary and >71.5% while walking.
