About ConfPad
what this is
ConfPad is a free, non-commercial archive of talks given at technology conferences: each talk with its recording, the people who gave it, a short summary and its chapters, and links between talks, conferences, series and speakers. It is run by Peta Sittek, a private person in Prague, Czech Republic.
where the data comes from
Public sources: the conferences' own recordings, programmes and websites, public conference catalogues, and the public profiles people publish. Recordings are embedded from YouTube and other video sites. This site uses YouTube API Services; by using it you agree to theYouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in theGoogle Privacy Policy. A speaker's profile link shown dimmed as "unverified" has not yet been confirmed as theirs.
how AI is used
Summaries, some chapter lists, English titles and some names on this site are produced automatically, with the help of AI, and are not reviewed by a person before they appear. They can be wrong — a note to contact@confpad.io fixes them.
privacy
- Who is responsible
- Peta Sittek, Prague, Czech Republic — privacy@confpad.io.
- What is held about people
- A speaker's name as published, the talks they are credited with, and public profile links as above. Nothing is collected from visitors beyond what a web server logs.
- Why, and on what basis
- To keep a public record of who said what at technology conferences, so their talks can be found. The basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)): the talks were given in public and published by the organisers; the archive only repeats what is already public, and attributes it.
- How long
- For as long as the archive exists, unless you ask for removal (below).
- Your rights
- You can ask what is held about you, have it corrected, or have it erased (GDPR Arts. 15–17) — write to privacy@confpad.io — and you may complain to the Czech data-protection authority,ÚOOÚ.
your right to object, and removal
You have the right to object, at any time, to ConfPad processing data about you(GDPR Art. 21). Write to privacy@confpad.io with the address of the page and what you want removed — a link, a credit on a talk, or your speaker page — and it will be done within a month, usually within days. Removals are recorded so that later imports do not bring the same thing back.
mistakes
The archive is assembled by tools and gets things wrong: a speaker credited on the wrong talk, a date, a summary. A note to contact@confpad.io with the page's address is the fastest fix.
