BandEI is a bandage-like electrical impedance sensor that uses woven conductive fabric and laser-cut silicone layers to sense deep and small muscles and tendons noninvasively. Design software auto-generates SVG files for curved body regions; fabrication takes about 10 minutes per patch and a finger sensor costs ~$0.40. Validation shows impedance traces align with EMG and also detect passive mechanical changes; hardware matches medical electrodes’ frequency response and supports gesture classification with ~98% accuracy.
