summary

Explains voting advice applications (VAAs) using Germany’s Wahl-O-Mat as an example and shows how to set up a local election compass with the open-source OpenElectionCompass. Covers why VAAs help voters compare party/candidate positions via structured statements, the costs and technical barriers for smaller elections, and how OpenElectionCompass provides a free, configurable, transparent alternative for deploying VAAs.
