Virtual Book Signing - Feedback Loops
summary
A virtual 24-hour conference is built and sustained: 24-hour virtual conference, five tracks, Q&A on Slack, plus a 278-page anthology of 48 short chapters that is printed and mailed to registrants and offered as a PDF. Early experiments draw 13,000 attendees, recent years hit 39,000 with 180 speakers and companies running viewing parties—State Farm sends 4,000. A yearly survey measures adoption (about 25% in mature devsecops), and a no vendor pitch policy steers content to practitioner lessons not product demos.
