Honeysuckle is an Android tool that generates in-app privacy notices from developer annotations, using an IDE plugin to add annotations, a build system plugin to insert generated code, and a runtime library to display notices. Developers annotate sources (data collection) and sinks (storage/transfer), Honeysuckle auto-fills types, produces a UI configuration, and supports notices at permission request, post-collection, or on-demand. A within-subjects lab with 12 developers editing two open-source apps finds the annotation approach is faster, lowers cognitive load, and is unanimously preferred.
