Mid-air array of Janus beads flips like pixels by combining a phased-array ultrasound trap with tailored electric fields from transparent ITO electrodes; a tiny titanium dioxide patch on each bead induces charge so electrostatic torque rotates beads while the acoustic field holds position. Prototype levitates about 15 beads, achieves video-rate updates at 37.8 ms/flip, measures a minimum ~400 μN torque to start rotation, and runs games where voxels move in 3D and flip independently.
