On the path to WebAR

Library AR.js shows WebAR running from a single page of HTML and hits 10 lines of HTML for a marker cube demo, optimized from 4 FPS to 60 FPS on two‑year‑old phones. It integrates with A‑Frame/three.js/Babylon, falls back to pure JS tracking, and uses ARCore/ARKit when available. The team ships open‑source code, demos include Minecraft models, a Hatsune Miku dance, portals and light‑aware shadows, and the builds run in-browser across Android, iOS and older devices.
