Performance Co-Pilot (PCP) provides no external database and optional binary archive files for high‑resolution live and historical metrics; core pieces used are pmcd, pmlogger, pmstat and Netflix’s Vector, and the RPM is ~4MB. Integration with a Ruby on Rails app uses StatsD UDP: a small translator daemon (pcp-mm-statsd daemon) receives UDP metrics and injects them into PCP (worked in practice), while a planned high‑performance C agent with histogram support aims to replace the temporary solution. pmlogger writes archives with about a minute delay.
