Introduces an oriented metric that is asymmetric except at zero, lifts it from strings/bitvectors to programs, and uses it to prune (ball radius 100 in examples) and factorize the bottom-up search: a toy grammar goes from ~4,000 candidates at size 7 to ~900 after pruning and to 81 after metric-induced equivalence. Implements a generic solver called Merlin and reports concrete speedups (about 25× faster on bitvectors, ~75× vs Blaze, 42× vs baseline) with reusable artifacts.
