SmoothMoves maps head rotation (IMU yaw and pitch) to target trajectories and selects when the Pearson correlation >0.8 between head movement and on-screen target. Three studies: 18 participants (432 trials) comparing head vs eye tracking with median head rotations as low as 6.7°, and 16 participants across head-mounted and handheld AR reporting error rates of 2.6% (glasses) vs 4.9% (phone) and acquisition times around 2.0 s. A prototype controls Philips Hue lights via an unmodified HoloLens using continuous head movement for intensity and color.
