summary

Eight five‑minute lightning demos show concrete systems and launches: Xtify push/pull APIs serves real‑time GPS/cell/MAC location via a JavaScript snippet on BlackBerry/Android/Windows/Symbian; Glympse duration sharing launches a G1/iPhone beta that sends time‑limited, browser‑viewable live maps (no app needed); Terrestrial Observation and Prediction System fuses satellite imagery with ecosystem models for NPS products and Cisco planetary skin work; HunchLab p‑value lattice detects spatio‑temporal crime anomalies (rolling out in Philadelphia). Social Explorer (15,000 variables, 1790–present), Spacehack.org, and MapWarper (open georectify, KML/WMS/GeoTIFF) round out the practical toolset.
