Blazor, a new framework for browser-based .NET apps

Talkat NDC London 2019 · 2019-01-30..02-01· [webassembly]

Blazor runs full .NET apps in the browser by loading a mono runtime compiled to WebAssembly and standard .NET DLLs, letting components (.razor) use DI, JS interop and shared libraries. Demo shows a to‑do UI, HTTP weather fetch, and exporting an Excel file using EPPlus 5.86M downloads to produce styled .xlsx with charts on the client. Runtime download is about 2 MB, server pre‑rendering yields ~26 ms initial HTML, interpreter execution is slower for heavy CPU work but AOT compilation brings performance near native.
