Open Policy Agent (OPA) Intro & Deep Dive

links:none on file
slides:none on file

Open Policy Agent is a general-purpose policy engine that takes JSON in and JSON out, evaluates Rego policies and writes decisions to a decision log for audit. Recent work improves the Regal linter (100 rules, ~15,000 lines of Rego) by avoiding allocations, interning numbers and speeding hot paths so linting drops from ~2–3s to ~1s on large suites — touted as OPA v1.0 performance gains. Gatekeeper adds validating admission beta, gator CLI and export features, and the project now has 10,000 GitHub stars.
