What data should I protect?: recommender and planning support for data security analysts
summary
An intelligent UI recommends which datasets to protect, simulates future risk values and estimated protection costs, and supports iterative plan building with a recommender sidebar and plan building workspace implemented on top of Informatica Secure and Source. Design work uses 11 industry analysts for requirements, 10 proxy users across four iterative design cycles, and a final evaluation with five participants. Results show reduced information overload, clearer tradeoffs between risk score and monetary risk, and easier justification of protection budgets.
