Android Studio adds built‑in accessibility checks powered by the Accessibility Test Framework for view layouts, flagging missing descriptions, insufficient 48dp touch targets and poor color contrast and offering suggested fixes (Compose support is coming). Android T introduces a global audio‑description preference and the isAudioDescriptionRequested API so apps can auto‑select descriptive audio tracks. Jetpack Compose now enforces minimum touch targets, requires contentDescription for Image/Icon, exposes a Semantics tree with mergeDescendants and clearAndSetSemantics controls, and the Layout Inspector shows declared and merged semantics.
