" summary

Xamarin updates focus on faster iteration and richer UI: XAML Hot Reload 2.0 and Hot Restart for iOS on Windows let developers edit XAML and push to Android, UWP or an iPhone from a PC with immediate feedback; Visual Studio 16.8 enables them. Xamarin.Forms 5 (preview) adds brushes, shapes/paths (SVG via Path), CarouselView/IndicatorView, SwipeView and drag‑and‑drop; Xamarin.Essentials 1.6 adds app actions, file picker, media, haptics and screenshots. Installer shrinks to ~6 GB and .NET MAUI (net6) is the migration path.
