Hands-on recipes show how to scrape and analyze research pages, conference proposals and Foursquare venue graphs using Pandas and NTLK inside an IPython Notebook. Three messy but working notebooks get data from Google Research and conference programs, extract and stem terms, cluster abstracts, detect that “quality” appears 27 times in 2014 vs baseline, and build Foursquare networks whose PageRank highlights the airport as dominant while betweenness surfaces changing hotspots. Code and notebooks live on GitHub and produce reproducible weak‑signal leads.
