The New Internet of Things Community
summary
A community site on java.net aggregates IoT blogs, project docs and recordings and runs a Raspberry Pi and Arduino hackafest where teams build projects over a two-day hackathon with sensor panel and present results; content shows dozens of diverse boards and Kickstarter projects, notes an average of about six devices per person by 2020, and reports experiments replacing five separate Pis with tiny sensors feeding one Pi and using BeagleBone Black running Java 8 hard-float plus OpenDolphin for data sync.
