SF Symbols. Icons for everyone?
summary
iOS 13 ships SF Symbols: a system icon library that embeds baseline alignment and lets you export custom symbols as SVG templates with 3 sizes 9 weights so icons scale with Dynamic Type. workflow: edit layers in the Mac app, import into asset catalog, or fall back to PNGs for older iOS. tradeoffs: many symbols suffer clipping and blurriness because point-based rendering misaligns pixels. alternatives: PNG sets, PDFs, or vector-to-code via PaintCode for pixel-perfect, dynamic icons.
