Cloud access via D-Wave’s Leap and the Ocean open source python tools lets programmers submit binary and discrete quadratic models to a 5,000‑qubit annealer with ~35,000 couplers and 15‑way connectivity, using hybrid solvers that combine classical pre/post processing. Over 250 early applications already target finance, logistics, routing (VW), retail scheduling (Save‑On‑Foods) and de novo protein design (Menten AI). Typical anneal time is ~10 microseconds with ~100 ms programming overhead, runs repeated hundreds–thousands of times; demos show variables mapped to qubits and solutions returned.
