Year‑long experiment embeds 221 quizzes in The Rust Programming Language and collects 62,526 readers answering 1,140,202 questions to locate learning hotspots. Analysis shows many readers stop after the ownership chapter, item‑response metrics rank conceptual why not questions as most diagnostic, and 12 targeted textbook edits raise targeted question scores on average by +20 percentage points (10/12 interventions effective, Cohen’s d ≈ 0.45). A free quiz plugin and reproducible artifacts accompany the results.
