TAPE is a text-based prototype that records direct edits inside computed output as preserving computed regions so edits survive reevaluation and remain linked to their source; holding Alt toggles alt-recording to turn copy/paste or command-palette actions into recorded operations. Actions become composable transformations that can be reordered or edited, letting the workflow move back and forth between direct manipulation and programmatic pipelines without throwing away the program — capture is naive and sometimes records actions instead of intent.
