Intro: Kubernetes SIG Apps

links:none on file
slides:none on file

SIG Apps owns the workloads APIs — Deployments, StatefulSet, DaemonSet, Jobs, CronJobs and PodDisruptionBudgets — and the docs and tutorials around them. The project uses KEPs but notes the quarterly Kubernetes release cadence forces delays, so new ideas iterate as external CRDs/controllers first. Example work: Application CRD (external controller that aggregates metadata and health across related resources), an Execution Hook controller to quiesce apps for volume snapshots, and an active effort to get cronjob to GA that needs contributors. Meetings are biweekly and deep dives walk through controllers and code.
