Snoop - a Discovery Service for Java EE

Talkat Jfokus 2016 · 2016-02-08..02-10· [java, microservices]

Snoop is presented as a 100% Java EE alternative to Eureka that runs as a Java EE app (GlassFish/Liberty) in Docker with a web UI, where services register themselves and send a health heartbeat every 10 seconds. Registration is a small annotation-based client (~10KB) so adding @Snoop / an enable-snoop-client flag registers endpoints; lookups inject a Snoop client that returns Optional responses and a JAX-RS WebTarget. Runtime Snoop URL and multiple instances per name are supported.
