Cloning the Seattle Ruby Brigade
summary
Clones the Seattle Ruby Brigade in 2009 to create the Fraser Valley Ruby Brigade, a rural club that grows to about 80 members and averages 3–5 people each week. Focuses on hack nights, bring a project, and meeting weekly; those three choices generate momentum, repel recruiters, and turn consumers into creators. Uses meetup.com, secures sponsor support to cover fees, and gets free books from OReilly and Pearson to build a 90+ paper library.
