EarSketch is a web DAW where students write Python or JavaScript to program music via an API for loops, one‑shots and effects and it already serves 15–20k students/month. New collaboration adds link sharing, snapshots, and real‑time jamming by locking browsers to a global clock using NTP time sync and quantizing play events to beats. Client sync uses an operational transform implemented from scratch (no off‑the‑shelf OT). A ten‑player study finds one shared script is chaotic, per‑track soloing is musically usable, and three scripts reduce visual churn but worsen time fragmentation.
