Javaslang - Functional Java Done Right

Java 8 gives lambdas and streams but misses serializable optionals, pattern matching, lifting, currying and persistent collections; Javaslang supplies persistent immutable collections, a predictable set of functional interfaces (arity and checked-exception variants), memoization and currying and containers like Option Try Lazy Either plus a library-level pattern matching implementation. Integration with Hibernate/Spring sometimes requires adapters; one end-to-end document-scanner project uses Javaslang successfully. Collections trade thread-safety and persistence for speed — roughly two to four times slower in microbenchmarks. Some modules remain alpha.
