Leveraging Spire for complex time allocation logic

Talkat Scala Days Berlin 2018 · 2018-05-14..05-17· [scala]

Uses Spire to build interval and interval-set solutions for scheduling: converts lists of time entries into Spire interval sets, unions employee schedules, takes complement to get free blocks, intersects with a 9:00–19:00 workday and filters by duration to find one-hour meeting slots (works on the demo). Shows analytics by intersecting per-employee interval sets to get common working periods, explains the monoid / bounded semilattice abstraction, compares interval-trie vs interval-sequence and reports good performance with millisecond-to-Long encoding.
