Pricing moves by encoding formulas as data rather than imperative code: a small expression language of Const/Var/Sum/Product evaluates to a breakdown node tree so every price shows the calculation steps, and a web GUI parses strings with the DParse parser, lets BI edit and dry-run two columns, then commit a versioned formula. Implementation yields immediate readable breakdowns, removes developer gates for formula changes, supports translating expressions to Ruby, Sequel, or LLVM for performance, and the demo shows it working end-to-end.
