PGDay Lowlands 2025 Lightning Talks
summary
Four quick takes: Oracle Database Operator is now production‑ready, with official container images since 2019, operator code from 2022, remote‑DB management across clouds and about 164 GitHub stars versus CNPG’s ~6,700. Postgres village is a community model—marketing, ops and devs coordinating via conferences and Telegram groups to onboard contributors. Postgres Compatibility Index is an open source test suite that scores features and lists missing capabilities so you can compare derivatives. Public speaking as an introvert shows practical mindset shifts that make sharing technical work repeatable.
