Work to standardise automated and manual accessibility checks produces a machine-readable ACT rules format now a W3C recommendation, backed by EU seed funding and implemented by SiteImprove, Deque and QualWeb. The ecosystem already lists 157 tools, a pipeline delivers about 70 rules and so far 12 published rules passed community review requiring three organisational approvals and at least two implementations; meetings run monthly and development happens openly on GitHub to converge interpretations and reduce inconsistent WCAG results.
