A synthesizer constructs quantum circuits from user-supplied component gates by performing enumerative search with pruning at the module-level search (modules are groups of gate operations like H and CNOT). It guides search by characterizing and filling attribute differences (entanglement, phase) between current and target state vectors. Evaluation on 17 benchmarks synthesizes 16/17 circuits in 96.6 seconds average, versus 10/17 and 639.1 seconds for a gate-level baseline; QFT succeeds in 220s where the baseline times out, largest generated circuit is 4 qubits.
