Testing for Accessibility with aXe

Automated accessibility tooling that runs locally and in CI actually exists: aXe is an NPM module with browser extensions and an API, axe-core aims for zero false positives and reports concrete failures (npm camp site audit shows 44 violations; Amazon returns many more), and axe-webdriverjs injects checks into real-browser end-to-end tests. Results include rule IDs, DOM nodes, and suggested fixes; tests prevent regressions and have already caught a broken radio-button state. Screen readers remain hard to automate.
