Ruby Wwithout Borders
summary
Moved to Moshi, Tanzania in November 2006 and building runnable slides in TextMate to demo location with Google Earth, the project pairs Western Ruby devs with local programmers to deliver small apps for NGOs (home for street kids, hospital, porter support), teach Debian/SSH skills, and commit code on GitHub. Pairing over about six months with one local dev shows pair programming doubles teaching capacity and speeds delivery; workable teams are four people for a few weeks.
