Using Ruby to build a modern Memex!

Talkat Keep Ruby Weird 2018 · on Friday, 2018-11-09· [ruby, databases]

A personal digital Memex is built end to end in Ruby: importers and scrapers ingest browser history, phone GPS, YouTube views, GitHub stars, Slack and email, plus manual logs; data lives as a graph on Postgres node/relationship tables rather than a specialized graph DB; voice queries use the Web Speech API and an Alexa front end. The demo works live — searchable timelines, location heat maps, correlation charts (coffee vs productivity, message volume vs mood) and recoveries like a quote found while eating a burrito. Open source release is planned.
