JavaOne Shanghai: Simon Ritter
summary
Coverage lists 55 new features in Java SE 8 presented in an hour, shows Java on Raspberry Pi — a $25 computer — with live demos including a mind-controlled LEGO motor that works, and announces Java ME Embedded 3.3 is GA with the Device Access API for sensors and motors. Notes that bits are available on OTN and that the Chinese Java community is large and asking technical, in‑depth questions.
