Erlang 2024
as the organisers put it
General Information Welcome to the website of the Erlang 2024 workshop! Series Erlang 2024 is the 23rd ACM SIGPLAN Erlang Workshop and is a satellite event of the 29th ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Functional Programming (ICFP 2024). Scope The workshop aims to bring together the open source, academic, and industrial communities of Erlang, other BEAM-related languages, actor model programming, distribution, and concurrency to discuss techniques, technologies, languages, and other relevant topics. The Erlang model of concurrent programming has been widely emulated, for example, by ...

| Controlled Scheduling of Concurrent Elixir Programs | Lars-Åke Fredlund, Clara Benac Earle, Ángel Herranz, Julio Mariño | 30m |
Library implements a user-level scheduler for Elixir that instruments KV-style calls via the Elixir macro facility and exposes scheduling algorithms: random…
| The Benefits of Tierless Elixir/Potato for Engineering IoT Systems | Solaris Li, Phil Trinder, Christophe De Troyer, Mart Lubbers, Adrian Ramsingh | 40m |
Implemented a smart‑campus IoT system (ERS) in Elixir/Potato and compared it to Clean/iTask (CRS/CWS) and Python (PRS/PWS), showing tierless code dramatically…
| Elixir-powered Low-income Animal Shelter Support: an Experience Report from Conception(…) | Carla Rodríguez Estévez, Laura M Castro | 24m |
A Phoenix web app built with Elixir, Ecto and Postgres unifies adoption, foster and expense workflows that used to live as messy Excel pages; it implements…
| Is this really a refactoring? Automated equivalence checking for Erlang projects | Bendegúz Seres, Dániel Horpácsi, Simon Thompson | 26m |
EquivcheckEr compares old and new versions of changed Erlang functions by running them on randomly generated inputs and only reports concrete counterexamples…
| Erlang on TOAST: Generating Erlang Stubs with Inline TOAST Monitors | Jonah Pears, Laura Bocchi, Raymond Hu | 31m |
A prototype toolchain converts TOAST (timeout asynchronous session types) processes into an internal CFSM, then generates correct-by-construction Erlang stubs…
| Erla+: Translating TLA+ Models into Executable Actor-Based Implementations | Marian Hristov, Annette Bieniusa | 24m |
Erla+ automatically converts a subset of PlusCal into runnable Erlang and a TLA+ model for TLC model checking, adding message-passing and failure primitives…
| Same same but different: A Comparative Analysis of Static Type Checkers in Erlang | Florian Berger, Albert Schimpf, Annette Bieniusa, Stefan Wehr | 29m |
Four static checkers (Dialyzer, Gradualizer, eqWAlizer, Etylizer) run against the union of their per-file test suites and show large disagreement: tools…
| Unsafe Impedance: safe languages and safe by design software | Lee Barney, Adolfo Neto | 33m |
Security agencies label several languages as memory‑safe (Ruby, Go, Java, Python, Swift) but the paper introduces unsafe impedance, a practical metric for how…
