Opening Ceremony
summary
Opening announcements and logistics focus on concrete things: venue is the National Museum of the American Indian, sponsors include Casper and Microsoft, roughly 300 attendees are present, and there’s an afterparty nearby. Practical rules matter: Wi‑Fi monitored — Tor and bittorrent will be blocked, emergency services affect connectivity, and there’s a live stenographer for the first session. Community norms are explicit: code of conduct online; staff in T‑shirts for help, and organizers list volunteer roles and local meetup plans like EmpireNode House / node haus initiatives.
