Using Java for Small IoT Devices

Java runs on microcontrollers by using a tiny JVM and a small OS that fits on Cortex M devices and boots orders of magnitude faster while cutting power so a wearable goes from daily charging to two to three weeks between charges. Proven stacks include a port of Eclipse Californium and a lightweight M2M client plus MQTT agents, all managed by an Edge hardware abstraction layer exposing peripheral manager, I2C/SPI/serial and digital/analog I/O. Demos show a Cortex M7 controlling a washer and Z‑Wave lights and an Android companion installing apps from an online store.
