Interview – Toni Van de Voorde
summary
Joined Ibuildings in 2020 and uses that role to restart an in‑person Dutch PHP Conference after two online years, switching from virtual ease to on‑site complexity while partnering with appDefcon and webDefcon. Notes a Mayit takeover and a last‑minute kickoff at the end of 2023, reusing the venue team’s experience. Claims the relaunch draws international attendees and additional speakers, emphasizes community building as the main win, and treats sponsorship and conference organizing as deliberate recruiting and branding channels.
