"State of Django" Panel
summary
Django community reports concrete wins and concrete asks: 69 upcoming events and 671 past workshops, 43,885 applicants with about 16,000 attendees and 21% moving into tech, translated Django Girls tutorial into 14 languages, plans for a pan‑African PyCon in 2020, and fast security triage by two DSF‑funded fellows often within hours. Governance changes propose shutting the private lists and a merge role proposal to move decisions onto the public django‑developers list. Funding and fellows expansion target third‑party app maintenance and outreach.
