Scheme 2023

The Scheme and Functional Programming Workshop is a yearly meeting of programming language practitioners who share an aesthetic sense embodied by the Algorithmic Language Scheme: universality through minimalism, and flexibility through rigorous design. Scheme 2023 is scheduled for Saturday, September 9, 2023. Mark your calendars and join us! This year we welcome Christos Dimoulas from Northwestern University as our keynote speaker. Christos will deliver an engaging talk about The Rational Programmer. You may access accepted articles in the Scheme 2023 Proceedings.

programming language researchers, Scheme implementers, compiler engineers, language educators, functional programmers, tooling developers, systems programmers

Visualizing Why Nondeterministic Finite-State Automa RejectOliwia Kempinski, Marco T. Morazán29m
A visualization tool builds computation graphs from FSM ndfa definitions using a breadth‑first traversal (make_ndfa_CG_edges) to collect edges, remove…

Visualizing a Nondeterministic to Deterministic Finite-State Machine Transform...Tijana Minić, Marco T. Morazán28m
A visualization tool implements NDFA→DFA by computing empties, traversing reachable superstates instead of the full power set, and encoding a dead state; the…

The Calysto Scheme ProjectJames Marshall, Douglas Blank33m
Calysto Scheme implements full Scheme (including call/cc) by writing an interpreter in continuation-passing style and mechanically transforming it into Python…

The Rational Programmer, An Investigative Method for Programming Language Prag...Christos Dimoulas56m
Introduces the Rational Programmer: an algorithmic simulation that mutates Type Racket programs to inject type-interface and code-level bugs, producing 1M+…

A R4RS Compliant REPL in 8KbLéonard Oest O'Leary, Mathis Laroche, Marc Feeley39m
Claims a full R4RS compliant REPL implemented on the Ribbit Virtual Machine and squeezed into a 7 KB Linux executable (6.5 KB measured). Implementation…
